Vinyl Liner Repair, Replacement, Maintenance

Vinyl liner pools provide a great value for pool owners, but they do require ongoing maintenance and repairs. Vinyl liners generally last eight to 10 years, and then often need replaced after this window. Our professionals can help you repair or replace your liner when that time comes.

VINYL Liner Maintenance

Even the most well-maintained pools face vinyl liner stains at some point. Our experts can help remove stains during a professional cleaning, but below are some recommendations from Latham for trying to remove stains on your own.

First, identify if the stain is caused by organic materials or metal.

  • Organic stains are generally brown or green and are most often caused by weather, dirt, algae and leaves.

  • Metal stains are usually caused by hardware or equipment in your pool like ladders and heaters.

  • Waterline stains are often described as a “ring” around your pool and are often caused by undissolved pool chemicals or calcium buildup.

To clean vinyl pool liner stains:

  • Remove dirt and debris

  • Vacuum the pool and clean the pool filter

  • Gently scrub the pool liner with a soft-bristle brush and surface-safe* cleaning product

  • Balance the water chemistry

  • Shock your pool

* It’s important to contact us before using any chemicals or products to clean your pool liner. While there are many DIY cleaning solutions online, do not use these unless you have spoken to a professional. In general, contact us if you have any questions before getting started.
